15 Goals for 2015

We are literally half way through January, however I wanted to have a public record of my business goals for this year. So on the 15th, why not list 15 goals for the year 2015!

1. BLOG TWICE A WEEK
Turns out this is the number for a successful blog. I am aiming to be consistent with blogging this year to track my business as well as show case the story of the beautiful families and couples I get to capture.

2. CREATE A BLOGGING SERIES
This kind of goes with the blogging twice a week thing, but I really want to review things that I use every day like gear and different gadgets I use or tutorials on photoshop/illustrator. I also want to review some of the books I've been reading.

3. CREATE AN ONLINE PRINT SHOP
Last year I met with several local printers to turn some of my calligraphy into prints. I am really excited about adding a shop to Quaint+Whim.

4. SHOOT A PERSONAL SERIES IN FILM
I LOVE film photography, and I always appreciate when my clients allow me to sneak in a few shots of them on film. My Mamiya RB67 still feels a little unfamiliar to me, and I want to be able to shoot a personal series on local creatives completely in film this year. (My goal is to do at least 6 stories!)

5. SHOOT A BIRTH SESSION
I have been wanting to do this for awhile now! So if anyone would be interested in letting me document such a beautiful moment, just (holler!)

6. SHOOT A PROPOSAL
Last year I was able to capture a proposal, and it was SUCH an amazing experience. I would love to try to get at least 3 under my belt this year.

7. GET ORGANIZED
I am pretty organized, unless it comes to workflow and my office space! I often tell people I am creative through the clutter. but really I just haven't found the best way to organize my space. I want to fell inspired when I walk into my studio. I also need a better workflow!

8. ATTEND A WORKSHOP
The start of this year I got to attend the Creative at Heart Conference, and it was absolutely crazy how much it inspired and opened me up on how to run a small business (I'll make an entry on that experience soon enough!) You can never stop learning and I am hoping to add a workshop or two under my belt before the year is over.

9. HOST MY OWN WORKSHOP
I have been planning a workshop for awhile now, and I cannot wait to let you guys know about it! It should be happing this spring/summer! I am so passionate about this and I just can't wait!

10. CREATE A SKILLSHARE CLASS
Anyone who knows me knows how much I am obsessed with Skillshare! They now have open enrollment for teachers and I have been brainstorming ideas of a class I could try to teach. I've done and learned from so many projects on skillshare, I would love to be apart of that family!

11. ALL THE BRANDING
I finally finalized my packaging and re-working launching my website, but I want to express my brand more than just through visuals. I am no longer offering packages that do not cover printed material this year. I want to, more often than not, have one-on-one sessions with my clients before the shoot.

12. CREATE A MORE IN-DEPTH FAQ PAGE
Last year, I realized I get asked the same questions, which means I am not doing a good job of translating how your sessions are going to be before our shoot! With the web-site relaunch I am hoping to answer the majority of common questions, to make clients feel more comfortable with working together. I am really excited about this add on!

13. BE CONFIDENT WITH OFF CAMERA FLASHES
I don't want to be that photographer that cringes with bad lighting situations and only shoots in perfect daylight. Though I am fairly confident at using my strobes, I want to be more confident with using speedlites, just to be more well-rounded as a photographer and the easier access.

14. ILLUSTRATE A CHILDREN'S BOOK
This one is ALWAYS on my yearly goal list...maybe this is the year?

15. SPEAK PUBLICLY
I have to give seminar-esque speeches at work all the time. I would love to speak and inspire other creatives.

So...this is my list for 2015, and a few are already in the works! So now that I've publicly put myself out there I can be held accountable for making dreams turn into reality this year!
